Word on the street is Hayden Panettiere’s boyfriend, fellow Heroes star Milo Venitsomething, has been doing a little ring shopping. As you know, Hayden turned 18 last year while Milo, well Milo turned 18 in 1995. Yeah, that’ll last. From In Touch Weekly:

Don’t tell Hayden Panettiere, but her boyfriend, Milo Ventimiglia, is planning to propose! The actor, 31, recently confided to a friend that even though Hayden is only 18 years old, he wants to get engaged, preferably this year. “Milo was looking at rings in late June,” the pal says. “He really likes Cartier and intends to spend around $200,000.” Hayden and Milo, who met on the set of Heroes, reportedly began dating in January.

This story doesn’t make any sense. Why would a young Hollywood starlet even consider getting married unless she was knocked up, losing her looks, or completely desperate? Screw a wedding dress, at 18, the only kind of dress Hayden should be thinking about wearing is of the prom variety. Of course, in either case, I’d recommend a lacy red garter belt.

Cool: Hayden Panettiere is interviewed in this month’s Glamour UK. Cooler: she admits she used to make out with her female friends when she was younger:

“It’s great to be single. It’s great to have boyfriends. Or girlfriends. There are occasions when you kiss your best friend growing up, having fun and goofing about. Like perfecting your technique.”

She practiced kissing with her girlfriends so that she could “perfect her technique?” I thought that’s what mirrors and stepfathers were for? The thing that angers me most about this story is not that Hayden wasted her preteen make-out sessions with other girls, but that she didn’t have the common courtesy to video tape those encounters and post them on the web. I blame her parents . . . and the Department of Justice.

Hayden needs a new stylist — the “I just broke into Mommy’s makeup bag look” does not fit her. Neither does the “plotting to take over the world look” she has on her face. What the hell? Fake a smile. And when did Hayden’s boobs turn 80? If those things were any saggier she’d be legally required to start eating dinner at 4 PM.

To make a long story short, Ryan Gosling wants to bang Hayden Panettiere. The New York Daily News says:

Heroes cheerleader Hayden Panettiere noshed with her momager at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. over the weekend. Ever conscious of the paparazzi, the actress changed sunglasses three times during lunch. Her various looks must have intrigued Ryan Gosling, who came over to her table. “They were hugging a lot, and they ended up exchanging numbers,” said an onlooker. (Source)

I don’t think Hayden kept switching her sunglasses because of the paparazzi–she just needed to keep moving. It’s important to do that around guys likes Ryan so they can’t get a fix on your position and eat you.

Kudos to Hayden Panettiere for really getting into the spirit of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last week. It’s kinda bittersweet seeing these pictures knowing I can’t come within 1000 yards of the show next year. I mean since when did crashing the red carpet and rubbing up against a few models become “assault.” So I like the feel of lace on my body. It doesn’t make me a bad guy.

A warrant has been issued in Japan for the arrest of actress Hayden Panettiere. Last month a bikini-clad Hayden and a group of activists descended upon the Japanese fishing town of Taiji to stop the annual dolphin slaughter. The group paddled out into a cove and attempted to free hundreds of dolphins but they were driven off by locals. After reaching shore, Hayden’s group loaded their gear into waiting vans and sped away to avoid being arrested for trespassing. The actress told E! News on Wednesday:

“I learned that they have an arrest warrant out for me in Japan. We just found out.” When asked what the arrest warrant could mean, Panettiere replied, “Potentially jail, but I doubt it.” And the actress isn’t letting a little thing like a warrant keep her from her cause. “I’d do it again,” she said. “Very possibly, might do it again.” (Source)

When I die I want to be reincarnated as a dolphin.* I don’t know what it is but hot chicks love those things. I think it’s their natural instinct to fix things. Bad boys, dolphin slaughter, it’s all the same. Ohh ooh I know, I could come back as a tattooed dolphin with a troubled past. I’d leave a trail of tears and broken hearts–hot chicks wouldn’t know what hit them.

Along with a group of professional surfers, actresses, models, and some hippie chick dressed as a mermaid, Hayden Panettiere participated in a traditional paddle-out ceremony in Japan over the weekend to honor the thousands of dolphins killed each year at the notorious killing cove in Taiji which I guess can get you arrested or something. A press release issued by the group said:

In a moving mid-afternoon ritual under grey rainy skies, with local Taiji fishermen and police scrutinizing the group, Rastovich formed the surfers in a circle over the placid waters of the small scenic cove and asked each to say a small prayer of remembrance for their fellow waveriders. An estimated 25,000 dolphins and porpoises each year are slaughtered by Japanese fishermen, either harvested for their meat in annual drives or captured for sale to marine and captive swim parks.

The Taiji fishermen, who defend the kills as part of their traditional fishing culture, had planned to stop the ceremony through force and police arrest. The possibility of a locally led resistance was averted by a dramatic last-minute turnaround. Rastovich was able to broker a meeting with area locals less than 12 hours before the paddle-out crew arrived unannounced at the killing cove. (Source)

Just once in my life I’d like to do my part for marine conservation without being hassled by a locally led resistance. And I know my outward appearance can be pretty intimidating what with the abs and biceps and whatnot, but I’m just there to help the dolphins, not to cause trouble . . . to be truthful though, sometimes I curse my empathetic nature and can-do spirit but, dammit, if not me then who else? With that said, I gotta wrap things up early today. The soup kitchen opens pretty soon (I like to be first in line) and I still have to drop off all these bottles I collected at the annual neighborhood recycling drive.
