Dog didn’t know

Dog the Bounty Hunter pleads ignorance
Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman pleads ignorance

Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman sat down with Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes last night in his first interview since the infamous audio tape of him unleashing a racist tirade against his son’s African American girlfriend was leaked to the public. With a straight face, Dog told Hannity (5:45 mark on the video below):

“I thought that I was cool enough in the black world to be able to use that word as a brother to a brother. I’m not. I didn’t really know until three or four days ago what that meant to black people . . . I never realized that that’s like stabbing a black person in the heart.”

Yelling fire in crowded theatre–not OK. Stealing candy from a baby–generally frowned upon. Making bomb jokes at the airport–don’t do that. Speeding in a school zone–again, try not to do that. Calling in a death threat against the President–to be avoided. Anybody got anymore? I figure we should get a list going for Dog. Ooh–during the summer you shouldn’t leave a baby in a car with the windows rolled up–that’s a good one.

  1. If Black people can use the word, so can everyone else.
They have to make a decision, either stop using the word entirely or stop giving the rest of the world a hard time when we use it.

  2. Black Girl

Okay, David Duke - you don’t have any clue what that word means when it’s coming from the lips of a racist pig. You are lucky that you will never have to experience the kind of pain that is attached to that word - the blood, sweat, and tears of our slave ancestors. I’m not condoning the use of the word by ANYONE, but certainly not from a bigot.

Oh, and I love how you separate Black people from “the rest of the world..” That’s exactly the kind of isolation and segregation that the word causes.

  3. Anonymous

And for the record, not all black people use the word!!! Open your mind a little!! You’ve probably never taken the time to get to know any black people!

  4. I do know Black people, but it doesn’t affect my point.
It’s hypocritical to attack Dog for using the word while countless Black rappers use it without repercussions. See my point?

The word is either offensive or it isn’t. Make a decision and let me know.

  5. Carlos

You know what’s offensive? Dog’s mullet. That hair wouldn’t be appropriate in 1989, let alone 2007. Oh, and wearing body armor with no shirt? Tacky. Looking at this specimen, did anybody expect Shakespeare to come out of that pie hole?

  6. Angela

Besides him using the word the fact still remains that he doesn’t like black people cause he says that if Baby Lisa(his crackhead loooking daughter)brought a black man home they will all tell her f*** you. And I believe that no one white or black should even be using the word. He was using the word in hateful way. Even his ex wife and an ex coworker says he is racist.

  7. Mishele

David Duke, you are so out of line! No one but a black person should have access to the word. It shows a real lack of class to do so. A real man doesn’t have to demean other people.

  8. chandra

Mishele, you do realize you are on a website that is devoted to “demeaning other people” right? Are you saying Nick isn’t a real man? If you are, I’m sure he’d be happy to politely choke you with his cock.

  9. Spicy

Carlos, I love your sense of humor. I stay laughing super hard on just about every comment you make on here. Have you thought about or do you have a website?

  10. Blackandproud

Its a fact the the Dog used that word and knew exactly the meaning behind it. It never fails your true character always reveals itself. David Duke is a known racist which makes him harmless we could careless about him. The dog is in the profession where this type of behavior can not be tolerated. Scarey to think that he is in the buisness of taking people into custody no telling what he has put the minority people through. Its important that we as people of color remember that racist are still our neighbors and never get to comfortable. I pledge to not be a racist and treat people with respect and dignity no matter what their race is.

What bothers me is the way he goes about his business. He is not low profile and loves to tell criminals that the only way is christ. He has been divorced a number of times and has who know how many kids. As far as a bounty hunter he does not impress me. I have never heard of a bounty hunter that has 10 family members helping him. And how tough is it to find a criminal in Hawaii. Not many places to hide

  12. Carlos

Spicy, funny that you ask. There’s a bidding war for my services between Nick and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Nick offers far more money, but Mahmoud sweetens the deal with delicious cheesecake poppers.

Let’s recap. No need for speculation, everything’s on tape. Dog is talking about an occasion where he used the n-word and saying he just didn’t know it was wrong. On tape he says, “I’m not going to take the chance that some f***ing N***er is going to go to enquire magazine just because we use the word n***er around here.” I don’t know about the rest of the soul brothers and sisters in the world, but that’s not the lingo I use as a term of endearment with my fellow n-words.

“My career is over. I’m not taking that chance ever in life. If Lisa was dating a n***er we would say f*** you.”

ps, Dog is just SO close to black people. That’s why he said he didn’t want a black girl around his house because she might hear him say the word black people who know him are cool with him using. Also, he didn’t know anyone would think it wasn’t ok. Because he thought he was black. Seriously who really buys this BS?

  14. notblackandproud

What is a word? It’s a unit of language, consisting of one or more spoken sounds. Words can be written as well. Are words powerful?? Sure, depending on the individual who is within earshot of said words. Whether Dog knew of not….beside the point….is the word hurtful? to some…you see I understand the point of “if it is offensive when I say it, but not when that guy says it” How can you be tolerant of the word when it is spoken by someone black, but not when used by anyone else? That makes absolutely NO sense. This “do as I say, not as I do” mentality is STUPID. AND, I do not want to hear about taking back that offensive word, and making it your own, or empowering yourselves by calling each other that. That is just plain horseshit!

  15. Let is go!!

Well said notblackandproud. If everyone would stop using this fucking word there would be no problem. Its an old word from an old world which has as negative history to it. It will never have a positive meaning no matter how hard our culture tries. Let it go and quit using the damn thing!!

  16. Piere

It was a private conversation!!! he can say whatever he wants … yes its wrong.. but how many times has a black person laughed about a white girl and said “that white bitch”… or “cracker” ??? dont tell me nobody has ever called another race by a nickname???? please… open your eyes… racism will never go away … we are all racist deep inside … let it go!!!

  17. bee

it is a word and yes it does matter who says it. You can not just stop using a word that is the dumbest shit i have ever heard that was for you “let is go” and “Piere” he should have not been such a dumb fuck he knew they wanted to catch him saying it and he fell into the trap so dont give me that shit “it was a private conversation” :(. as far as dog goes he can rot in hell with all the other dumb white trash people who dont know they cant use that word.

  18. notblackandproud

Bee….why can’t “dumb white trash people” use that word? If it is acceptable for dumb black people to use that word, then it is ok for dumb white people to use it as well. You cannot have a double standard. Now, I understand the eradication of a word is impossible, so what can be done? Some people might say,”you know what?? Get the fuck over it!” To which I agree with just a little. Or, we could let things go on how they are….and accept the fact that only black people can say a certain word. Sounds pretty silly to me. You can’t blow smoke into someone’s face, and tell them it’s not ok to smoke, or it’s offensive to smoke.

If a word is offensive, it is offensive…whether uttered by white, black, brown, yellow, or red. Just because someone black says it, you’re ok with it? The meaning is somehow changed? It’s empowering? Again…HORSESHIT!!!

  19. bee

not black and proud im going to guess you are white? with that said i dont think you have ever heard a word that could be so degrading and offensive. i dont think it is the word that makes african americans mad i think it is the context and tone. when it is said by african americans it is a friendly way. when assholes like dog say it is to be mean and offensive.

  20. notblackandproud

So…when a white says it in a friendly way…it’s ok? Cool, I am glad you cleared that up for me. Here we go again! Double standards. As far as your superb carnival skills in guessing I am white, I applaud you. The name didn’t give me away did it? So, only blacks can feel degraded, or offended? Or is it only whites cannot? Bee…I think you are missing my point. You’re caught up in the whole defending of the offensive material. I will fight to the death to defend anyones rights to say whatever he or she wants…but I’ll be damned if I cannot say the same things you do because it offends you when a whitre person says it. So is the word offensive, or are you offended because I am white?

  21. bee

not black and proud im not going to keep trying to justify my views thank god we live in a free america where we each can have our own opinion, but if you feel the need to finish this please give me a call 1-800-fuck-off and if i dont answer PLEASE KEEP TRYING!!

  22. notblackandproud

Great…wanna go down to the 3rd gradde level Bee? I called 1-800-FUCK-OFF, your mom said you were busy. I know we won’t agree on the subject….just admit that you have double standards, and I’ll be happy to let this go!

  23. Margo

notblackandproud what are you, like twelve years old? Grab your binkie and take a nap. You’re cranky when you hate.

  24. penguin

really I agree with margo get over it

  25. notblackandproud

Who is hating? I just went down to Bee’s level. Maybe you didn’t read that one. All I want is some one to say they have double standards on this subject. It’s obvious people do. Why is that ok? All shit talking aside….explain to me why, if a word can hurt so much, and degrade so much, it is acceptable to use ONLY if it is said by someone of the same color? That is all I want! An intelligent retort. Something that will make sense!

  26. A BIG FAN OF DOG
