Mel Gibson was so worried that his mug shot would resemble Nick Nolte’s famous 2002 arrest shot, he used the water fountain at the police station to slick his hair back:
He tells US newswoman Diane Sawyer on breakfast show Good Morning America, “The first thing that went through my mind was Nick Nolte’s photograph. “So I did my best with a finger combing in the water fountain, to sort of like splash a little water on my face, to not take one of those hideous mug shots. Because I knew it would be around. So, vanity won out!”
Congratulations Mel. If anything screams “friend of the Jews,” it’s greasy slick-backed hair. I hope the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for all those new Malibu synagogues don’t interfere with your production schedule!
